Background
The client is a global financial market data and infrastructure provider. They are known for data analytics, risk management, and trade execution.
The product is a data platform that links a wide range of data sources, making relationships easy to spot. The desktop platform needed to be adapted for mobile to meet modern expectations.
Challenges
The app had to be user-friendly for all users, no matter their experience or device. Most navigation and patterns needed a complete redesign.
The overall look had to stay consistent while adapting for mobile. The new design system needed to follow existing branding rules, but color and typography had to be adjusted for mobile screens. Desktop components were created in different editors. They had to be redrawn from scratch in Figma.
Achievements
We created over 1,200 components using an atomic methodology, accessible color palettes, and a scalable type system. Defined how designers interact with design system libraries and built a governance model to keep updates easy for the team.
The app’s structure and navigation were redesigned to help users find information and complete tasks on mobile. We documented the design system principles, UX writing rules, and adaptive behavior guidelines to make future component creation easier.
